TCS is conducting the National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT) for engineering candidates from the batch of 2024.
Test Details:
- TCS NQT follows an Integrated Test Pattern for Prime, Digital, and Ninja fresher hiring at TCS.
- Candidates appear for a single test, and based on performance, qualify for Prime, Digital, or Ninja interviews.

Application Process:
Step 1. Logon to the TCS NextStep Portal here Opens in new tab
Step 2. Register and Apply for the Drive
- Scenario A. If you are a registered user under TCS NextStep Portal, ‘IT’ category, kindly login with your TCS Reference ID (CT / DT reference number) and proceed to complete the application form. Upon submission, kindly click on ‘Apply For Drive’
- Scenario B. If you are a new user, kindly click on Register Now, choose category as “IT” and proceed to fill your details. Submit your application form and click on ‘Apply For Drive’
Step 3. Select your mode of test (In-Centre) and choose your preferred test centre & then click on Apply.
Step 4. To confirm your status, check “Track Your Application“. The status should reflect as “Applied for Drive”.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Please note that this is an In-Center test, and center allotment would be on first come first serve basis.
- You must have all your original academic documents till date, to be produced at the time of interview (if test shortlisted)
- Communication related to the test will be informed to you by our test partner, TCS iON.
- TCS does not send job offers / any hiring related communication from unofficial email ids like Gmail, Rediffmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail etc.
- TCS does not ask candidates to deposit any money for employment offer.

- Kindly note that we have a stringent eligibility criterion and a robust selection process. Your eligibility as per the defined criteria will be checked at various stages of the selection process. At any point of time if you are found ineligible, or data shared by you is found discrepant, your candidature will be disqualified.
Test Eligibility
- Percentage: Minimum 60% or 6 CGPA throughout academics including the highest qualification, till the latest semester for which results have been declared at the time of appearing for the test process. If selected, the offer will be valid only if the degree / provisional degree certificate clearly states that the candidate has cleared Engineering in ‘First Class’ after completion of the course, at the time of joining.
- Highest Qualification: TCS NQT is exclusively open for candidates from the batch of 2024 with the following academic degrees: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Master of Technology (M.Tech.) / Master of Engineering (M.E.) / Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) / Master of Science (M.Sc. / M.S.) in any specialization offered by AICTE / UGC recognized universities / colleges.
- Backlogs / Arrears / ATKT: The candidates should not have any pending or active backlog / arrear / ATKT at the time of appearing for the TCS Selection process. If selected, no pending backlogs / arrears / ATKT will be permitted at the time of joining TCS. All pending backlogs / arrears / ATKT should be cleared within the course duration stipulated by the University.
- Extended Education: No extended education allowed. Candidates should have completed the course in the stipulated course duration.
- Gap / Break in Education: It is mandatory to declare gaps in education, if any. Overall academic gap should not exceed 24 months until highest qualification. Relevant documentation, as applicable, will be checked for gaps in education.
- Course Types: Only full-time courses will be considered (Part-time / Correspondence courses will not be considered).
- Open Schooling: Candidates who have completed their Secondary and / or Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible to apply if the graduation and post-graduation (if applicable) courses are done full-time.
- Work Experience: Candidates with prior work experience of up to 2 years are eligible to apply for this hiring process (Applicable only for post graduate students).
- Age: Candidates should be between 18 to 28 years to participate in this hiring event.

Test Pattern
Features:
- TCS NQT is an integrated test consisting of two sections: Foundation and Advanced.
- While all are encouraged to attempt both sections, it is mandatory if you aspire for Digital or Prime.
- Based on the test performance, candidates will be shortlisted for Prime, Digital or Ninja interviews.
- TCS NQT will be conducted in TCS iON Centers.
